Day 6 - Kids love Kraut!
Little ones are quick to pick up on our habits, good and bad. We know this is especially true with food! When kids are surrounded by healthy foods when they are young, they are more likely to eat and enjoy a wider variety of these foods into adulthood. So while you are enjoying your daily forkful, consider sharing the habit with the little ones in your life!
We know fermented foods are an important part of everyone’s diet, young and old. As the popularity of ferments grow, so has the marketing surrounding probiotic supplements for little ones. Instead of relying on another pill with probiotics made from a lab, we can simply add this superfood into our diet and benefit from the bacteria nurtured straight from the veggies themselves.
Incorporating fermented vegetables into little ones’ diets is easier than you may think!
Bright, tangy sauerkraut is the perfect snack for little fingers. At our farmers market booth or grocery store demo table, we find that it’s often the caregivers who are more cautious, while the little ones are eager to try a sample! Our Classic and Emerald City Kraut (tastes like pickles!) are simple, easy to please flavors. More adventurous eaters love our Salsa Viva, or even the kick of Firefly Kimchi!
Picky eaters in your house? Our Yin Yang Carrots are a more recognizable snack and are often the best way to introduce kids to fermented veggies.
