Firefly Fermentation Classes and Events

Join us in the kitchen to learn everything you need to know to get started fermenting foods at home.

Registration and payment are required at least 4 days in advance and space is limited so sign up now to reserve your spot. A class confirmation receipt will be e-mailed to you after payment is complete. Class changes and/or cancellations must be done at least 48 hours prior to class date for full refund.

Tuition is $60.00 and includes:

  • Workshop where each student creates at least 2 styles of sauerkraut
  • 2 jars of kraut (produced in the workshop) to ferment at home

4.28.12: Portland Whole Foods Cooking Class: Join Firefly co-owner Julie O’Brien at the Pearl District Whole Foods in Portland on Saturday the 28th from 11-1 for a plant based cooking class and learn how to make delicious meals without dairy, meats and oil. Firefly products will add extra flavor to the amazing recipes you will learn in this course and hopefully take home to share with others!

5.4.12: Cherie Soria Talk 5:30-7 pm: Join Cherie, “Mother of Raw, Vegan Gourmet Cuisine”, at Firefly Kitchens for an evening talk, demonstration and book-signing.

6.2.12: The 14th annual Bastyr University Herb and Food Fair: With a focus on global health and “Restoration of Body and Planet,” this year’s fair is one that you can’t miss! The free community event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012, is expected to bring several thousand visitors to Bastyr University’s 51-acre campus near the shores of Lake Washington. Join Firefly and hundreds of other vendors, food educators, graduates and students for an exquisite day of learning and events. There will be cooking classes, demonstrations, workshops, lectures, food booths, free acupuncture, kids activities, garden tours and more!
